Pastor Ben Johnson, Associate Pastor

Ben Johnson is a native to Illinois.  When his family moved to Morrison in 1999 this church (at that time known as Open Bible Fellowship)
became home.  After high school, he pursued 3 years of ministry leadership training in the internships of New Life Church in Colorado Springs.  Two of those years were with the 24-7 Leadership Academy and the final year as associate staff for the Desperation Leadership Academy.

In September of 2009, Ben moved back to Illinois and
became the youth pastor at Open Bible Fellowship serving under Pastor Chris Byrd.  He also partnered and helped connect area youth ministries to come together for regular UNITE youth rallies, events, and work camps.  In 2017 Ben graduated from Moody Bible Institute with a Bachelors in Ministry Leadership.

Shortly after starting as youth pastor, Ben married the love of his life, whom he had met in the internships of New Life, in 2009.  Kelita is full of creativity as well as an ability to disciple and minister to women.  She has a
courageous voice and powerful discernment.  She has not only helped Ben in many aspects of his job and calling but she also pursued various callings of her own.

Ben and Kelita have four wonderful kids: Zander, Selah,  Haven, and Thaddeus.  As a family, they love to be outside, create things and explore.  The family is also passionate about missions.  Ben and Kelita both had short term mission experiences as young adults and together as a couple.  It was this passion for missions that ultimately led to the Johnson family moving to Honduras in 2017 for 2 years.  While there they ministered to the people living in rural and mountainous villages outside of La Ceiba.

In 2019 the Johnsons moved back to Morrison and Ben became the Associate Pastor at Kingdom Life Community Church.  Ben who is still passionate about missions
desires to further KLCC’s vision and effectiveness for global and regional missions.  He is also working to help further equip and empower the members of KLCC to step into their individual callings by understanding their God- given giftings and passions
